Mikki Johnson, MA, Post-Master's Fellow, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500
Mental Health Professional | Certified Yoga Therapist | Experienced Yoga Teacher
I’m a mental health professional, Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), and Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with over 15 years of clinical experience and more than 25 years of practicing and teaching yoga. I work with adolescents and adults (14+), offering individual and couples therapy with a focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, substance use, and life transitions.
My approach integrates psychotherapy with yoga therapy to support nervous system regulation, mind-body awareness, and sustainable healing. I’ve developed therapeutic programs, including the Mind Body Program and the Post Meal Mindful Movement Protocol, and have led therapy groups for individuals with co-occurring eating and substance use disorders. I’m also passionate about education and public speaking, helping others understand the connection between breath, body, and emotional well-being.
I study in the Viniyoga tradition and am fortunate to be mentored by Dolphi Wertenbaker, MD, C-IAYT, a long-time student of T.K.V. Desikachar. My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s unique path. I aim to create a safe, affirming space for all, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients.
Based in Minneapolis, MN, I find balance and inspiration through walking, hiking, boating, painting, traveling, and exploring new experiences. Yoga continues to be the heart of both my personal and professional life.

“Whatever is in the practice, it will leave a residue and show up in life. In that way, yoga is a protection.”
